App Store and Google Play URL formats

Last updated

You paste a normal store link; Jumper keeps only the app’s id and sends each visitor a clean, current store address for their device. This table is exactly what it sends.

What Jumper sends

TargetURL
App Storehttps://apps.apple.com/app/id<ID>, plus ?pt=<pt>&ct=<campaign>&mt=8 when a campaign is set. Never a country code.
Google Playhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=<package>&referrer=<encoded referrer>, referrer at most 512 characters.
Huawei AppGalleryhttps://appgallery.huawei.com/app/C<id>
Galaxy Storehttps://galaxystore.samsung.com/detail/<package>
Microsoft Storehttps://apps.microsoft.com/detail/<StoreID>
Mac App Storehttps://apps.apple.com/app/id<ID> (shown to Macs)
FallbackYour own https address, or the Jumper app page when you set none.

What you can paste

  • An App Store link such as https://apps.apple.com/us/app/your-app/id123456789. The country and the name are dropped; the id stays.
  • A Google Play link such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.example.app. Extra parameters are dropped.
  • Store fields accept store hosts only. The fallback accepts any https address and is screened before it goes live.

Next: which device gets which store, Apple campaign tokens and the Google Play referrer.

Questions

Why does Jumper not force a country code into App Store links?

Apple sends each visitor to their own country’s storefront when the link has no country code. A fixed code such as /us/ would send everyone to the US listing, or to a page that does not exist where your app is not sold.

Which hosts do the store fields accept?

Only the store hosts in the table above. Anything else in a store field is refused when you save. The fallback field is the exception: it takes any https address and is checked before it goes live.

Are the old galaxy.store links supported?

No. They no longer work, so Jumper never produces them. It sends the galaxystore.samsung.com/detail address instead.
