Apple campaign tokens (ct and pt) without an SDK
Last updated
Save your Apple provider token (pt) once, give a link a campaign name, and Jumper sends iPhones to apps.apple.com/app/id…?pt=…&ct=…&mt=8. App Store Connect then counts downloads per campaign. No SDK is needed.
Track App Store downloads by campaign with Jumper.to
- Find your provider token. In App Store Connect, open App Analytics and create a campaign link. The link it shows contains pt=<number>: that number is your provider token.
- Save the token once in Jumper. Enter the provider token in your account settings. It is stored once and added to every link that has a campaign.
- Name a campaign on each link. Set the campaign field on the link, for example summer-launch. Jumper sends it to Apple as ct, shortened to the first 30 characters.
- Read the results in App Store Connect. Under App Analytics, Sources, Campaigns, Apple counts impressions, downloads and first-time downloads for each campaign name.
What Jumper sends
For a link with the campaign summer launch and provider token 118227:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id1000000001?pt=118227&ct=summer%20launch&mt=8
Without a campaign the address stays plain, so a link you do not track is as clean as a store link can be. Apple’s campaign figures are anonymous counts; Jumper does not get them and does not need them.

Questions
What is the difference between pt and ct?
pt is the provider token that identifies your App Store Connect account, ct is the campaign token that names one campaign. Apple needs both to attribute a download to a campaign.
Why is my campaign name cut off?
Apple limits ct to 30 characters. Jumper cuts the campaign at 30 characters, without splitting a character, before sending it.
Does this work without an SDK?
Yes. Apple’s campaign analytics are built into App Store Connect and need no code in your app. Jumper only adds the two parameters to the App Store address.
